The Starting Your Home-Based Child Care Business series will help get your home-based program off to a great start with information about:
- Equipment and learning materials
- Schedules, routines, and activities
- Interacting with children and families
- Keeping children safe and healthy
- Record keeping and policies
- Emergency planning
- Child care regulations
Trainings Offered
- Part 1: Getting Started – This 2-hour course introduces high-quality learning environments, intentional teaching, and multi-age activity planning in a home-based child care setting.
- Part 2: Healthy and Safety – This 2-hour course introduces some of the health and safety standards, best practices, and ways to properly implement these in your home-based child care.
- Part 3: Teaching and Learning – This 2-hour course introduces high-quality learning environments, intentional teaching, and multi-age activity planning in a home-based child care setting.
- Part 4: Resource and Support – This 1-hour course introduces some key support systems and the tools and services they provide.

The development of these online courses was 100% funded by federal Child Care and Development Funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an $8,000,000 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
