Earn Your CDA Credential Online!
The Child Development Associate, or CDA, is one of the profession’s most recognized early childhood credentials. You can now complete the training component of the CDA online through Texas A&M AgriLife.
What You Will Learn
By earning a CDA, you afford yourself opportunities for career advancement and gain knowledge and expertise about early childhood development and practices. This credential may help families and employers feel more confident in your abilities to work with their children, as it indicates that you are highly trained in your craft. You will increase your knowledge in:

- Learning environments and curriculum
- Observation and assessment

- Engaging families and the community
- Outdoor play and environments
- Social development and guidance techniques
- Professionalism and ethics
Trainings Offered
- A 2-hour course, CDA Credentialing Process helps participants understand the procedure for obtaining a Child Development Associate credential. This course may be included in the training hours toward the CDA.
- A 4-hour course, Creating Your CDA Portfolio supports early childhood educators in building their Professional Portfolio in preparation for the CDA assessment process.
- 120 hours of online training designed to meet the criteria set forth by the Council of Professional Recognition, covering 13 functional areas, and 8 subject areas (minimum 10 hours each).

The development of these online courses was 100% funded by federal Child Care and Development Funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an $8,000,000 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.
